Maes Mawr Smallholding

We enjoy a secluded spot away from the village, surrounded by farmland. This makes our little Welsh cottage feel very private and out of the way whilst also being close to the general amenities. If you are travelling to us please take care to follow the directions in BOLD below.

Should you use a sat nav please follow the directions, but do not follow it right to the destination, you will end up on our neighbours driveway. Near the destination follow from the directions in BOLD below;

 

Travelling from Caernarfon

 

Travel through Caernarfon on the A487, continue through travelling through BONTNEWYDD, stay on the A487 past the junction/roundabout for GROESLON.

 

After that, on the second roundabout take the first exit, left, for LLANLLYFNI.

 

At the next roundabout take the second exit, to the right. You will see a sign for LLANLLYFNI further up the road, the road starts to go uphill, and either side of the street there are terraced houses. On the left, half way up is a row of black railings and a school sign. Turn LEFT at this point. The road is marked LON TY GWYN on maps. Drive up the single track road, and follow the instructions in BOLD.

 

Travelling from Porthmadog

 

Travel through Porthmadog on the A487 heading towards Caernarfon, continue through travelling past the signs for PENMORFA, and GARNDOLBENMAEN stay on the A487 until the roundabout with the PENYGROES/LLANLLYFNI turn off. Take the third exit.

 

At the roundabout take the second exit, right. You will see a sign for LLANLLYFNI further up the road, the road starts to go uphill, and either side of the street there are terraced houses. On the left, half way up is a row of black railings and a school sign. Turn LEFT at this point.

The road is marked LON TY GWYN on maps. Drive up the single track road, and follow the instructions in BOLD.

You will pass a large white house and gravel driveway on the right. Continue round the right hand bend. You will see a house to the left over a bridge, and another access onto a track via a farm gate next to that house. This is the access to our property.

​

Drive through this gate, please close it behind you. The track is laid to slate and continues up through the fields. The track is perfectly suitable for any normal car. Due to livestock on the farm that surrounds us there might be another gate on the track prior to ours.
